Bath Gilbert & Sullivan Society is fairly unique in being both an appreciation and a perfoming society. The society was formed in 1944/5 as an appreciation society and progressed to small private performances for the delights of members.

The Society's 63rd season ended in July with a very succcessful concert production of The Gondoliers at the Mowlem Theatre in Swanage. For one night only the group entertained a large and appreciative audience and we look forward to returning to the resort next year. This new venture for the group was an innovative addition to the programme, which included a concert production of Ruddigore in November 2007 at the Mission Theatre and a fully staged production of The Gondoliers at the Wroughton Theatre in May 2007. In between our members enjoyed an interesting and varied programme of monthly meetings and entertainments.
We now look forward to our 64th Season which will include productions of Patience and Iolanthe, and for the first time an Old Tyme Music Hall will be staged at the Mission Theatre in February next year. Full details of can be found on the '2008/9 Programme' page and other event specific pages.
The society is always keen to welcome new members - appreciation, singing and backstage. If you're interested, why not pop along to one of our Friday rehearsals which are held at the Southdown Methodist Church Centre in The Hollow. We meet from 7.30 pm - why not take the plunge!
Altenatively, come along to our opening evening on Wednesday 24th September which will be a 'Sing-a-long Pirates'. The emphasis will very much be on fun and you'll have the opportunity to take part in one of Gilbert & Sullivan's most popular and best loved operas.
