Bath Gilbert & Sullivan Society is fairly unique in being both an appreciation and a perfoming society. The society was formed in 1944/5 as an appreciation society and progressed to small private performances for the delights of members.

The Society's 64th season ended in July with very succcessful productions of Trial by Jury (part of the Mission Theatres Bath Festival of Opera) and Iolanthe at the Mowlem Theatre in Swanage. This was our second visit to the resort and once again the group entertained a large and appreciative audience. This new venture for the group was an innovative addition to the programme, which included a concert production of Patience in November 2008 at the Mission Theatre and a fully staged production of Iolanthe at the Wroughton Theatre in May 2009. In between our members enjoyed an interesting and varied programme of monthly meetings and entertainments.
We now look forward to our 65th Season which will include productions of La Belle Helene and The Mikado, and two Old Time Music Hall nights will be staged at the Mission Theatre in December 2009. Full details can be found on the '2009/10 Programme' page and other event specific pages.
The society is always keen to welcome new members - appreciation, singing and backstage. If you're interested, why not pop along to one of our Friday rehearsals which are held at the Southdown Methodist Church Centre in The Hollow. We meet from 7.30 pm - why not take the plunge!
For all general enquiries about the society, please contact Jon Lewis on 01225 834017.
