Welcome to the Bath Greenpeace pages!
As most people will already know, Greenpeace is an independent, non-profit making organisation whose goal is to protect the environment. We are very often creative and always non-violent when we tackle environmental problems and are careful to research solutions and find alternatives to help provide a path for a green and peaceful future.
Greenpeace organises campaigns:
· for the protection of oceans and ancient forests,
· for the phasing-out of fossil fuels and the promotion of renewable energies in order to stop climate change,
· for the elimination of toxic chemicals,
· against the release of genetically modified organisms into nature and
· for nuclear disarmament and an end to nuclear contamination.
Local groups like Bath Greenpeace play a key role as campaigners and fundraisers for the above through public engagement work, lobbying or direct action. We are open to all Greenpeace supporters (not just paid up members!) and the best way to get involved or find out more is to come along to our meeting where we plan events over the next few months.
When do we meet?
On the second Monday of the month This takes place from 7:45 to 9pm at Still Point,(next to the YMCA), Wallcott Street. Meetings are followed in true Greenpeace manner by a trip to a pub.
For those who can’t stand the thought of sitting in a meeting for an hour (fun-packed though they may be!), we can still keep you up to date and involved via our mailing list. Give us a call/ email us, or fill out the form on the "Find out more" page to get on it.
